2019 Fall/Winter

appleEditing this journal is one of the joys of my life. This edition is particularly meaningful to me as the poetry and prose found here expresses so much of what I am feeling right now–the gratitude that former student Windy Boatwright talks about in her essay “In Gratitude: A Letter to My Peers” –and the loss so many of us feel after the sudden death of my husband’s nephew Lee.

I am especially grateful to Bill Rudolph and Wil Michael Wrenn, whose beautiful poetry about life and loss arrived at the perfect moment to help me through some tough days, inspiring the theme of this issue.
